Yesterday, it was the Valentine's Day Dance at my school.
In the morning Carolina got a rose from Vlad and she was very excited about it. She thought he liked her and couldn't stop talking about it.
Maths was fist period. Nothing really happened because we had a quiz that was supposed to be our chapter test.
German was next. It was a double. During the second period we went up to the auditorium to listen to Anne Fine, a childrens' writer who came to visit our school.
Everyone thought she was funny, while Yaz and I sat at the back facepalming like "This is sad...". She talked about depressing stuff like her crazy kids. I don't know if I understood it right, but she said that her son had a rotten brain, one of her daughters was a misanthrope and another daughter floated around the house. She also told us about the funniest book she has written. It is about a boy trying to commit suicide and failing every time....
And another thing: I don't read childrens' books!
Then it was English class. It wasn't that bad.... (Wait! What??? Did I just admit liking English class???!!!!! What's wrong with me???) Yasmin was being what the others call "racist". Our teacher didn't really mind because I guess she has a sense of humour.
After that we had French and Music. There wasn't anything that interesting about these subjects.
After school the four of us (Franny, Yasmin, Carolina and me) went to Franny's house. Marina came later since she (lucky!!!!) had to re-do a science test.
We put our dresses and make-up on and came (as always!) fashionably-late!
It was very cold outside, but inside the building it was very hot.
The dance was in the auditorium. There is a stage at the back. Next to and behind the stage there is a little place covered with black curtains. In there there are chairs, desks and other things people need for plays or concerts. On the right side of the stage there's a door. Behind it there's a room with other equipment like costumes or mirrors. In the room there are stairs going to the balcony where they have the music. There's also another door in that room. You can enter it from the stage and from the outside.
Ms Lemale didn't let anyone go behind the stage. Since Yaz and I are rebels (zoum! zoum! zoum!) we did not listen to her (zoum! zoum! zoum!). We went inside the little room and came out from the other entrance that leads to the back of the stage. We did it two times and.... Got in trouble... What the heck...?
Franny, Yasmin, Carolina, Marina and I decided to take a photo. Our money was downstairs, so we came down to get it. We found Missis Manchala there. I feel sorry for the teachers.... Really....
We took the photo, ate some pizza and went to dance.
Yasmin and I got kind of bored so we started making up another epic escape plan (just in case we have to escape from the auditorium for some random reason).
The building is divided into two parts: the Eiger and the Cervin. The dance was in the Eiger auditorium and the food was in the Cervin auditorium. In the Cervin auditorium there are two doors. One of them was open for everyone. It led to the elevator and the stairs. The other door was also unlocked, but we weren't allowed to go there. But for Yaz and I a "no" means a "yes".
We sneaked through the door and ran downstairs. We took the fire escape ones so no one notices us. (Now I sound stupid... Two 13-year-old girls running around the building in heels... Who wouldn't notice that?) We ran to the first floor and, of course, Missis Manchala saw us. As we saw her we ran back up the stairs and sneaked into the first bathroom. (Now I sound even more stupid... Hiding...?Why...? No one was really after us....)
Today in English class Missis Manchala told us that she really didn't like that. She said that she didn't tell Mr Gilbert (our principal). When she was saying that I was waiting for her to say "I didn't tell Mr Gilbert, but I told M Peron instead!" Luckily, she didn't say that.
The dance was over before I knew it. Everyone rushed outside and the place became deserted.
Unforgettable experience.
